Kid Pitch and Competitive Programs (1st - 8th Grades)

There are four major divisions, broken down as follows:

  • Minors Prep (Select 1st graders, 2nd graders with at least 1 year experience, & new 3rd graders)
  • Minors / 10U (Select 2nd graders, 3rd with at least 1 year experience & all 4th graders) - 46 ft Pitching Mound, 60 ft bases
  • Juniors / 12U (5th & 6th grade) - 50 ft Pitching Mound, 70 ft bases
  • Seniors / 14U (7th & 8th grade) - 60 ft Pitching Mound, 90 ft bases

Minors Prep is a hybrid of kid pitch and coach pitch baseball to transition players between recreational and competitive levels. Teams will play against Westview and other neighboring league players.

Within each of the three major competitive divisions there are the following three skill levels where teams are assigned:

  • National (beginners through average skill)
  • American (above average)
  • Federal (advanced)

While most players play in their grade-level divisions, age and grade in school are factors in which division your child is eligible to play for.  Players are grouped by skill level into these three skills levels.

Typical Season Activities
  • Practice is 2-3 nights per week starting in late March
  • Games are played during the week
  • Games typically will follow the same weeknight schedule as practice
  • Your team will also be joining tournaments around the area. TRAVEL IS REQUIRED
  • Tournaments typically take place on the weekends, with some having Friday starts

NOTE:  If your child has an overlapping birthday vs grade they are in, the will be assigned to play with their respective age level for Non-JBO games and tournaments.  The age level of the team is determined by the age your child is on April 30th.  For example, if your child turns 13 on May 1st, they would be considered age 12 (because they were still 12 on April 30th) for the upcoming season. Also, Coach and friend requests are not permitted in our competitive programs.
