Programs
Westview Youth Baseball has two separate programs -- Recreational and Kid Pitch/Competitive baseball. Our Recreational Programs are T-Ball and "Coach Pitch." These programs are designed for children Pre K through second grade. Our Kid Pitch/Competitive Program is designed for kids of all skill ranges and intended for children in 2nd through 8th Grade (some 1st graders may be allowed to play up). Westview Youth Baseball is a one of approximately 27 youth baseball programs within Westside Youth Baseball. Westside has over 2,000 ball players, ages 5 to 14 years old.
Background Checks
Westside Youth Baseball requires all coaches and volunteers to have a background check. This background check will be automatically applied to all coach and parent helper registrations. The Westview Board will validate background checks before team assignment.
Spring Season
The Spring Season for the Competitive Program runs from the March through July; while T-Ball, Coach Pitch, and Minors Prep programs run through the end of June. Competitive Baseball (Minors, Juniors, and Seniors) registration typically ends in the middle of February. T-Ball, Coach Pitch, and Minors Prep baseball signups stay open until mid-March.
Fall Season
Team Baseball available for Coaches who want to build a team for ages 9-14. Practices and games start around Labor Day and continue through mid-October.
JBO Levels of Play
JBO Competitive Baseball breaks the playing levels into the following grade levels:
- Minors - Select 2nd graders, 3rd & 4th graders, 46 ft Pitching Mound, 60 ft bases.
- Juniors - 5th & 6th graders, 50 ft Pitching Mound, 70 ft bases
- Seniors / 7th & 8th graders, 60 ft Pitching Mound, 90 ft bases
Within each of these three major competitive divisions there are the following three skill levels where players are assigned:
- National (beginners through average skill)
- American (above average)
- Federal (advanced)
While most players play in their grade-level divisions, age and grade in school are factors in which division your child is eligible to play for. Players are grouped by skill level and will play against other area competitive teams that are bracketed in that same skill level. Minors Prep is a hybrid of kid pitch and coach pitch baseball to transition players between recreational and competitive levels. Teams will play against Westview and other neighboring league players.
